The FAA IACRA is a web-based application system
which was established in the early 2000s to
replace pen-and-paper forms with a convenient
and streamlined online system.
Not only
does IACRA allow common FAA forms to
be submitted online, but it also helps
to check if data entered on the forms
is filled out correctly. It does not
check everything, but it can, for instance,
notify the applicant if certain flight
hour requirements are not met.
|
|
Example:
you enter that you have completed 9
hours of solo time, and IACRA warns
you that you have not met the minimum
requirement for the private pilot checkride.

You probably already have
an IACRA account by now; it is used to obtain
the student pilot certificate.
Make sure you know your FTN number and your
login information!
Before you start a checkride application,
make sure you have the following:
Knowledge Test Results - You will need to
enter the specific control number on the results
sheet into your online application.
Flight Experience Requirements Met - As stated
above, if certain required flight hours are
not met, the IACRA system will not allow you
to submit the application.
Once you have completed the application (usually
best to do it with your instructor present),
your instructor will digitally sign the form,
and then the checkride scheduling process
can begin.
