In order to
maximize safety while practicing maneuvers,
the Pre-Maneuver Check and Clearing Turns
should be completed before starting each maneuver.
Clearing turns consist of two separate 90
degree turns in the same or opposite directions
with emphasis on collision avoidance.
Maintain altitude during clearing turns and
establish appropriate airspeed (if required),
for the maneuver you are going to perform.
Be sure to visually clear the area in direction
of first turn (lift wing to clear blind spot
/ check for traffic).
