Private Pilot Syllabus
We have developed our own unique Flight Training Syllabus -
designed specifically towards our clients' needs, our training aircraft,
our local airport and surroundings.
|
|
|
Our syllabus is designed to help you
acquire the required flight proficiency and aeronautical knowledge
for attaining an FAA Private Pilot Certificate. |
|
|
|
|
|
Our syllabus primarily references three
key FAA publications - Airplane Flying Handbook, Pilot's
Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK), and the Airman Certification
Standards (ACS). |

The FAAs Airplane Flying Handbook
provides basic knowledge that is essential for pilots and has been
required reading for many decades. This handbook introduces basic
pilot skills and knowledge that are essential for piloting airplanes.
Airplane Flying Handbook provides basic knowledge that is essential
for pilots. This handbook introduces basic pilot skills and knowledge
that are essential for piloting airplanes.
It has been developed by the Flight Standards Service, Airman
Testing Standards Branch, in cooperation with various aviation
educators and industry.
This handbook is developed to assist student pilots learning to
fly airplanes. It is also beneficial to
pilots who wish to improve their flying proficiency and aeronautical
knowledge, those pilots preparing for additional certificates
or ratings, and flight instructors engaged in the instruction
of both student and certificated pilots.
It introduces the future pilot to the realm of flight and provides
information and guidance in the performance of procedures and
maneuvers required for pilot certification.

The FAA created the Airman Certification
Standards (ACS) to communicate the aeronautical knowledge, risk
management, and flight proficiency standards for the private pilot
certification in the airplane category. The goal of this document
is to drive a systematic approach to all components of the airman
certification system.
The ACS consists of Areas of Operation
arranged in a logical sequence, beginning with Preflight Preparation
and ending with Postflight Procedures. Each Area of Operation includes
Tasks appropriate to that Area of Operation. Each Task begins with
an Objective stating what the applicant should know, consider, and/or
do. The ACS then lists the aeronautical knowledge, risk management,
and skill elements relevant to the specific Task, along with the
conditions and standards for acceptable performance.
